From summarizing literature and structuring arguments to paraphrasing dense text and polishing grammar, students and researchers are using AI at nearly every stage of the scientific writing process, making AI disclosures more of a norm.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"rising-adoption-of-ai-tools-in-academia\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rising Adoption of AI Tools in Academia<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/2411.05025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">large-scale study<\/a> found that <strong>81% of researchers<\/strong> (n = 816) have already incorporated large language models (LLMs) and generative AI in research workflows. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitaleducationcouncil.com\/post\/digital-education-council-global-ai-student-survey-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">global student survey<\/a> from the Digital Education Council reports that <strong>80% of students<\/strong> (n = 3,839 across 16 countries) regularly use generative AI tools for academic tasks, including writing and studying.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New findings from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d41586-025-01463-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">July 2025 <em>Nature<\/em> survey<\/a> further reinforce this shift.
