CACTUS Partners with American Society of Microbiology to Transform Manuscript Submissions with Paperpal Preflight

Cactus Communications (CACTUS), a pioneer in science communication and technology, is delighted to announce an alliance with the American Society of Microbiology (ASM) for its groundbreaking Paperpal Preflight product. This partnership will allow authors submitting their manuscripts to ASM journals access to Preflight’s comprehensive language and technical compliance checks, empowering them to refine their submissions to meet the highest standards. Notably, this collaboration will not only streamline the submission process for ASM but also lead to a considerable reduction in editorial workload, ultimately enhancing the efficiency of the entire process for authors and reviewers alike.

Abhishek Goel, CEO and Co-founder of CACTUS, conveyed his excitement about this collaboration, saying, “We are delighted to join hands with the American Society of Microbiology. Our collaboration is a testament to our commitment to advancing the quality of research publications. With Paperpal Preflight, we aim to enhance the manuscript submission experience, facilitating a smoother process for authors while supporting ASM in maintaining the highest editorial standards.”

Powered by machine learning and trained on millions of published articles, Paperpal Preflight is a plug-and-play Web app. As the perfect AI assistant for academics, it instantly identifies and suggests ways to fix language-related problems and technical issues like references, disclosures, structure, and more. Authors also have the option to download the edited document with suggested improvements presented as track changes. By presenting authors with technical checks against over 30 parameters, Preflight reduces the risk of desk rejection by up to 80%. This, in turn, enables journals to save time and ensure high-quality manuscript submissions without any additional costs.

David Haber, Director of Publishing Operations at ASM, shared his thoughts, saying, “This partnership with CACTUS is an exciting step forward in our ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency and quality of the submission process. By integrating Paperpal Preflight, we anticipate a more streamlined and accurate evaluation of submissions, further improving our journal’s contribution to the scientific community.”

If you’re interested in Paperpal Preflight and want to explore a possible collaboration with your journal, write to us at preflight@paperpal.com and let’s talk.
